Dr. Rafael C. Esquenazi

Dr. Rafael C. Esquenazi was born in Mexico City and graduated with honors from Medical School at La Universidad Autonoma de Mexico. Dr. Esquenazi moved to the United States upon completion of medical school and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at The Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He then went on to complete his Nephrology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. For more than 20 years, Dr. Esquenazi has been involved in teaching at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and at the University of Texas in Houston as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine. He is the founder of Nephrology Physicians of Houston and has been caring for patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension and kidney transplantation in private practice for the last 25 years.

Dr. Esquenazi is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and certified as a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Esquenazi is focused on the prevention and care of all stages of Chronic Kidney Disease and serves as Medical Director to several DaVita Dialysis Centers.

In his free time, Dr. Esquenazi enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
